EA Takes Over Mythic Entertainment

mythicEA has acquired Mythic Entertainment, the makers of Dark Age of Camelot and Warhammer Online. The new company will be called EA Mythic and will remain based in Virginia, USA, with 175 employees.

“Mythic has always been a leading independent developer in the online space,” said Mark Jacobs, CEO and co-founder of Mythic Entertainment. “EA’s commitment to the online market as well as its focus on creating games of unsurpassed quality, scope and scale gives us opportunities and resources we could only dream about in the past.”

EA is known for buying up promising developers, like DICE (Battlefield 1942), and Westwood Studios (Command & Conquer).
