Track7, developer of Thesis for the Xbox360, PC and PS3 has announced that they are not planning the game for PS3 any longer, it’s simply too expensive to develop for the platform. It’s not like we didn’t know the PS3 would be difficult to code on, but for the first time a developer faces the consequences of the PlayStation 3 hardware.

“If Sony were to offer us assistance in producing a PS3 version we would be more than happy to oblige!” said Vicky Valanos, Managing Director.

At this year’s E3 legendary developer John Carmack was one of the first to state that the PlayStation 3 is very difficult to make games for, “the Cell processor is better for multimedia purposes, not gaming?. Carmack said.

UPDATE: Apperantly the game was never ment to be developed for the PS3. Track7 issued the following statement on their website:

We plan to develop “Theseis? for PC and Xbox360 in the near future. As for the PS3, we simply made a strategic decision to not move ahead because we deemed it not probable at this time.

[Thanks, Kevin]
