EA’s Plans For The Wii

On July 14th, 2006 in Uncategorized -

Wii EAEA has now announced six games they are developing and will be shipping for Nintendo’s new console this Fall. The six games are:

1. NFL Football 2007
2. Need For Speed: Carbon
3. Harry Potter
4. Tiger Woods PGA Tour
5. The Godfather
6. SSX

All of the games mentioned above will use the Wiimote functionality, EA’s John Schappert said:

Once we started to experiment with Madden on Wii, there was an explosion of innovation. Everyone in the studio is energized by the creative opportunity afforded by both the hardware and controller.”

It’s no surprise though, EA has always supported Nintendo consoles. However, with the Wii, it’s not just simple ports like it was with the GameCube. EA has to create special versions using the Wiimote, a thing that could either make it or break it for the game, and eventually, the Wii console.
