David Jaffe, creator of God of War and the upcoming God of War 2 for the PS2 says he is confident the series will become a trilogy. He posts regularly on his personal blog about the development of GoW 2, which is going really well at the moment;

“When you are making a game, you never really know if the game will turn out good enough to merit another one in the series, but after last week, I can say I am very confident of our chances to be able to complete the God of War trilogy.”

He did add that it was only him “putting it out there”, and that nothing is official. God of War 2 is scheduled for release early next year, only for the PS2, for now.
