Guild Wars, the popular MMORPG, has passed the 2 million registered users mark. Guild Wars seems to appeal to players because it doesn’t charge a monthly fee, unlike World of Warcraft.

NCSoft, publishers of Guild Wars and the expansion Guild Wars Factions, is currently developing a second expansion called Guild Wars Nightfall, due for release on September 15th. Besides Guild Wars, another MMORPG called “Aion” is in development, and a closed beta is expected later this year.

It’s not all good news for NCSoft’s though, their MMO (yes, another MMO) Auto Assault failed to attract players when it was released earlier this year, and has reportedly cost the company $13.1 million in losses.
