Xbox360 Capable Of Running DX10?

On August 23rd, 2006 in Uncategorized -

xenosATI has reportedly said that their Xenox GPU inside the Xbox360 is capable of running DirectX 10, using a simple software partch. That would make it quite easy to port DX10 games from the PC to the 360, for instance Crysis.

I doubt it can be done with a single software upgrade in form of patch. The Xenos is built around DirectX 9 technology, and is the same design as ATI’s current PC graphics card series, the X1900, and there is no way you could upgrade one of those to DX10 with a patch, unless of course Microsoft and ATI have a few secrets about the Xenos.
