It has been revealed through the official PS3 site that the console will not ship with a HDMI cable, not even the $600 version. Apparently, true HD gaming (according to Sony) only starts if you can spend another $50 on a HDMI cable.
Sure, one can understand that the PS3 is costly to make, Sony is loosing a bunch of money on each console sold, but for $600, I would expect the thing to run HD right out of the box.
