Sony CEO Not Worried About PS3 Delays
Sony CEO Howard Stringer said that he wasn’t worried about the PS3 delays, while speaking at the new Sony interactive science center in Beijing.
“The idea of worrying about a delay in the PlayStation is slightly strange to me. Every complex technology runs the risk of delay.”
Strange to him? Maybe that’s why Sony’s profit just dropped 94%? Furthermore, he said that in order to cope with the PS3 losses, Sony needs to find profit(s) from elsewhere,
“We really have to generate excitement and profit from other parts of the company to offset the performance in PlayStation 3,”
Sony estimates the game division losses to reach $1,7 billion this year, mostly due to the high manufacturing costs on the PlayStation 3.
