Review Roundup: F.E.A.R. (Xbox360)
A year ago, F.E.A.R. brought some innovation to the PC shooter genre, offering a new atmosphere and realistic visuals. The xbox360 version delivers what a great console port should deliver, decent controls, stunning visuals, and of course, additional content.
GameSpot (86/100) “This straightforward translation of last year’s hit PC game skillfully blends kinetic action with creepy atmosphere to create one of the most intense shooters on the Xbox 360.”
IGN (91/100) “F.E.A.R. has made it from the PC to 360 with everything that made it an outstanding experience along with a few new additions including the fantastic Instant Action mode, making it hard to lodge any huge complaints against the game.”
GameSpy (90/100) ” All things considered, F.E.A.R. is an excellent addition to the Xbox 360 library, and it has made the transition from the PC in great form. The multiplayer aspect of the game still needs some work, and we’re sure that these issues will be addressed in some form in the near future”
Official Xbox Magazine (80/100) “F.E.A.R. is a good-looking FPS with great sound and amazing gunfights, but it lacks variety – sharing Condemned’s bent for basements, air vents, abandoned factories, offices and so on, and the identikit enemies don’t help. It’s also a real pity that it’s not more horrifying or that the plot isn’t twistier.”
