Microsoft Reveals Gears Of War Trilogy

November 21st, 2006
With the recent launch of the PS3 and Wii, Microsoft as suddenly gone from no competition to droves of competition on the next-gen front. Gamedaily managed to track down Microsoft’s John Bell for a talk about their strategy for winning the console war. During the interview, conversation turned to Gears of War, where Bell revealed that Gears of War is meant as a trilogy, where the first part was released earlier this month. Bell said,

“…The goal of this ad is to establish Marcus Fenix as the hero of the Gears of War trilogy. The intention is to create emotional connection with him that is lacking in typical third-person action title marketing, by communicating a sense of desperation, loneliness, overwhelming odds, and the ultimate futility of the situation he faces.”
