Wii Breaks Amazon UK Pre-order Record

Nintendo’s Wii became the fastest selling pre-order item on Amazon.co.uk when it went on sale earlier today. All units available for pre-orders were sold out in 7 minutes, breaking the record. Amazon game-manager James Schall said “the response was phenomenal”, and that the pre-order eclipsed previous records set by Harry Potter books and the latest Coldplay album. Although Amazon didn’t mention how many Wii consoles were pre-ordered, they said that more units will arrive on launch day, December 8.
