After a PC box of Gears of War was displayed in the recent Games For Windows magazine, rumors jumped up like wildfire all across the net about Gears of War coming to PC. However, in a recent statement, Microsoft tells gamers that there are currently no plans to bring Gears of War to Windows. Below you can read Microsoft’s official explanation for the mixup,

“These images were created using draft templates for the Games for Windows box art and a variety of Microsoft Game Studios cover images. Gears of War was accidentally included by the artist as one of the MGS titles used as examples to show what our retail setup would look like,”

This is unfortunate for PC owners, and probably for Microsoft as well, since Gears of War would certainly convince a few gamers to get Windows Vista (assuming the title was Vista-exclusive, like Halo 2).
