Sony Not Fixing The 1080i Issue?

A few days ago Sony released a statement saying they acknowledge the problem with HDTVs not supporting 720p, and said the issue will be fixed in an upcoming patch. Now SCEA’s David Karraker has retracted the statement by saying the Sony cannot confirm that the issue can be fixed with a firmware patch, but he didn’t deny it either. Basically they’re making sure no promises are made, since the problem is apparently bigger than originally assumed.
