ATI And NVIDIA Accused Of Price Fixing

On December 10th, 2006 in Uncategorized -

Last week, ATI and Nvidia got nailed with federal subpoenas, today, the reason for those subpoenas has been released. It appears that the two graphics card makers are being accused of some price fixing. According to the Department of Justice, ATI and NVIDIA

“have engaged in a contract combination, trust or conspiracy, the effect of which was to raise the prices at which they sold graphics processing units and cards to artificially inflated levels.”

As of right now, the DoJ is requesting documents from both companies as far back as 1990. I’m sure more information will be given as the case develops, but right now its not looking good.
