The much trumpeted XNA Game Studio Express has been released today by Microsoft. XNA Game Studio is Microsoft new software that will open up video game development to anyone and everyone.

XNA is available to be downloaded 100% free at the website. Would be developers will also be able to join the Creator’s Club for $49 for four months or $99 for a year. The Club will provide users with thousands of game assets, support, and much more.

In honor of the release, Microsoft will be having the “Dream-Build-Play” competition starting in January. You can find more details on the contest here
