Wii LAN Adapter

On December 24th, 2006 in Uncategorized -

Game accessory maker Datel has announced a Wii LAN adapter, making it possible to connect the Wii to the Internet using a LAN cable, instead of a wireless connection. Unlike the PS3 and Xbox 360, the Wii doesn’t have a LAN port, only and only support WiFi connectivity out of the box. Nintendo offers a similar USB to LAN cable, while the Datel version is a bit cheaper.

A cabled connection is preferred instead of a wireless, since WiFi networks usually have a noticeably higher latency. Cabled LAN is also faster.
