Gears Of War Glitches Getting Serious

When a multiplayer part of a game is popular and played for thousands of hours a day, all issues/bugs/glitches will eventually be found, and unfortunately, exploited. One of the more serious exploits gives the ability to sprint and shoot at the same time, another one let’s you jump and fly over 20 feet. More details about the exploits here. But fear not, Epic is coming with a patch in the beginning of January, hopefully.

It always happens, the more people play a game, the more bugs and exploits are found. But if you got a good developer like Epic, they notice it and fix it. Unlike EA and DICE.

Jim you are absolutely correct and Epic is really good about patching their games and providing free content.
I wonder if there are any glitches that can be taken advantage of in the campaign mode of the game. That is where I need help since I play hardcore and don’t do the co-op thing. If anyone knows of any that gives you more firepower or more health or more ammo let me know please. I just want to get through this game so I feel like my money/trade in wasn’t a complete waste.

Well, let’s not judge before the patch is out
They might not fix some of the major issues, but I doubt it, they’re probably aware of more glitches than the public.
And for the hardcore difficulty, use the guide from GameSpot, helped me through it. Although it took me at least 30 tries to defeat RAAM

Oh but you did defeat him and you didn’t give up trying … that is good … after about 15 tries I will probably just say to hell with it. I don’t even know if I will get that far tbh. Hardcore is just crazy to do alone … but call me crazy I guess. And I have the Brady Official Guide with the Extra artwork and all … I guess it is the special edition guide. I had enough store credit so I just said what the heck.
That was before I played the game though and decided it really wasn’t my cup of tea … but I still want to finish it … it just may take me the entire 2007 calendar year but at least I will finish the campaign (since I don’t play online) before the Gears II which I really hope is more improved.

ksfl you know how I feel about that whole GOTY thing … it is all about the visuals this year … nothing more nothing less. And that is why this year it is laughable when you compare it to last year’s big winner … God of War.

hardcore isn’t even that hard…just aim for the knees when fighting the locust, the head is too hard to hit…and try using your pistol more..it’s way underrated..the shotgun is pointless on hardcore and insane because if they get that close, you’re dead anyway

Not in my experience … the shottie has saved my butt plenty of times … and maybe it just isn’t that hard for you … did you ever think of that. I really get offended when people tell me that something isn’t that hard … obviously I find it difficult so just because you think it is not you don’t have to be a braggart about it … which is what you sound like whether you intended it or not. Wow you are so good … go play in a tournament then. But please don’t give me advice that is basically worthless …

Well glitching, exploits and work-a-rounds have always been a part of gaming. It is imposible to eliminate every one of them. If you haven’t used any of them yourself, then you probably are a causual gamer and not that seriously into gaming. Epic has an easier time with Gears being on X360 only. It’s closed and no Unreal3 editor is available in game to turn these into game killing events. Halo 2 was one of the glitchest games ever. But people still played it and manage to have fun. Sometimes glitching itself is fun, just for the hell of it.
I won’t lie, I’ve glitch killed way too many people in BF2 and UT2004. I used aimbots, and been in many aimbot wars where the inocent die like flys. In UT2004 in clans you always kept a spare aimbot just in case you ran into an aimboting clan. Then they got passed out to defeat them with their own tactics.
For the most part the tournaments are clean. But you will never stop all the stuff like glitching, exploits on any platform. Epic’s UT2204 is a prime example. For bots aim and otherwise, Anti-tcc has never eliminated them. With a root hooked bot you can get past any anti cheat system like in BF2 or UT2k4. That’s where console gaming like in Gears has an advantage. You can’t run a bot if you don’t have root code access. So luckily in Gears you only have to deal with things that can be fixed to a degree. It’s a far safer environment and pushes skills over any kind of cheating.
Personally, I hate legal snipes more than any of them, and that’s not cheating unless your using a glitch to do it from. It just doesn’t take any real skill to sit in a spot and snipe all day. No game controller skills needed to move about and use real tactics in true gaming fashion.
Epic will do some patching, but in all honesty, once they are done with a game, pretty hard to go back and patch everything, especially glitches and exploits of the Easter Egg variety, where some don’t get found for months! If you’ve ever been a code slave, you’d know why, boredom can lead to a planned glitch or exploit Easter Egg coded into your game.

yeah, after i got gears i couldnt put it down for awhile i havent seen graphicsthis good in my life im sure you all agree i mean i wouldnt want to pay $600 for good graphics when i own a 360 personally the ps3 is just crap.
I did complete casual by myself and hardcore with a friend and i swear it took me bout a good 7-8 hours toc beat on insane by myself, i did figure out how to bet RAAM at the end i just simply went to cover on a cement block(front right) and RAAM just stands there like a retard holding his turret. So while he stood there i just threw a frag over the block and blind fired some active shots form the good ol shotgun and after like 35 rounds he was dead. but yeah casual and hardcore are a breeze. After playing live awhile casual and hardcore are no fun at all lol, anyone check out that chainsaw yourself glitch? its the shizz

Well, all i kno is that someone said headshots are hard in insane and hardcore… i beat insane by myself and the first time i got a sniper i kept it the whole time, the menu sais insane is for masters of the headshot… i more than qualified that. Also its funny to see that Epic never patched any glitches… they probably have more fun with them then we do

glitches are not to be fixed.
they are what makes the game more fuin than it is and what keeps it fresh..
when i got Call of Duty for 360, at fiirst it was reaat and i played non-stop, but then it got a little boring, and then me and my friends found glitches and it got interesting again. once they took all teh glitches away, al of a sudden the game got really stupid and boring again. glitches are alrigth as long as people dont do them in games that count, liek in gears of war, only glitch in player matches, not ranked. and only true fags use them seriously. there good to mess around with if u get tired of playing.
glitches should stay. plain and simple, it draws more people to play the game.

yeah same as b dawg man glitches are fun but make sure u dont over use them then u will become predictable in gow i caught one guy that kept going up in the map and floating so i snyped him every time. if u take glitches away then mak new ones or change the ways to do the glitches have fun gaming.

Glitches PATCHED?????? Are you guys smokin dope??????I just got off Gears and there are more glitchers than ever before. I even had (what a friend thinks was a mod game) a game where once you down someone and they begin to bleed out you CANNOT kill them. I had my reticule pointed at his head. second time I used the shotgun, third the pistol…One thing was consistant though. Even as I could see my bullets fly out I heard the sound of an almost empty clip that click,click.Online gameing has become a joke….I sold my 360….Mybe sony has a better grip on crap like this….doubt it though.

Lol if you seriously cant beat the on all the difficulties you really suck. I beat casual in 1 day it took me 2 trys to defeat raam on hardcore and 1 n seriously…yall suck and yea i crabwalk, back flip, and do many other map glitches like jumping from the top of clocktower to the bottom. People hate glitchers because they cant do em, so um get a online pal and learn something ffs?

PIZZED is right. There are so many glitchers, there is no fun in playing anymore. I’m okay with someone who glitches a little bit and I really appreciate someone who shows you how to glitch, because for me, all I hear from pretty much everybody is “Piss off *****!”. I’ve tried to start crabwalking, and all that happens is getting stuck to the wall or stuck in between 2 walls. Then somebody blows my freakin’ head off. Luckily, I only try this in Annex, so I respawn later and I get to do the WHOLE process over again!

I find that the game has problems when you’re playing in hardcore and insane modes. I find myself emptying clips with the locust rifle and the grub is still up, by then I’m dead. Also with the sniper rifle I will shoot a locust in the head but nothing happens its like a miss or something. But then wait 2 secs and shoot him in the hand or foot and he dies. Makes the game on hardcore and insane boring because you have to restart after dying. I just play casual over and over, it seems to make the game act like it should.
