The Game Developers Choice Awards are the true gaming awards, unlike the one’s we have seen at the US such as the SpikeTV’s Video Game Awards. Instead of awarding media hype, these awards actually mean something to the makers of the games we all love. The nominees were announced today.

Some of the top games leading the list were Okami, Oblivion, Zelda, and Gears of War (no surprise there). The winners will be announced at the awards ceremony on March 7, 2007, during the conference. It will be hosted by Psychonauts game designer Tim Schafer. Full list of nominations after the jump.
