With the demise of Acclaim many games were left dead in the water, including The Red Star, a shoot-em-up take on an alternate reality Russia. Today Take-Two has announced its plans to release the game for the PS2 on April 6.

Developed by XS Games, the game features a world of chaotic warfare, industrial technology and arcane magic where soldiers of a “Russian-inspired superpower” fight for their lives against Dark forces. The game will let players choose between three warriors, each with their unique skills; two-player co-op gameplay; and unlockable bonus features.
