Mortal Kombat VIII to be an MMORPG?

World of Kombat, here we come! In the April (yea) edition of Official Xbox Magazine, there is a blurb in the rumor section saying that Mortal Kombat VIII will be an MMORPG. It’s easy to say that it is the April edition of the magazine, therefore it is an April Fool’s joke. But, there actually might be some truth behind it.
Last year, Ed Boon, co-creator of Mortal Kombat, said the following last year during the annual Fight Night chat:
“Mortal Kombat 8 is going to start from scratch on a number of levels. It will also go in a direction that nobody is going to expect… and our thing that you’ll hear about very soon are all going to be new to this game. It’s going to be nothing like you’ve ever seen before.”
The same can be said about any video game sequel in history, but you never know. It might not be so bad trying to level up Johnny Cage’s sun glasses.
