RE4 on Wii Confirmed
After many retailers popping up with release dates on their websites, Resident Evil 4 has finally been confirmed to be on the Wii, totalling three different renditions of the game (PS2, Gamecube). In the Japanese gaming magazine, Famitsu, there are a few pages revealing some screenshots of the game, along with new the obviously new control interface. The new port has everything that the original version has, including the PS2 “Seperate Ways” mode. But the main attraction are the controls; you will be able to stab “ganados” with your Wiimote.
Resident Evil creator, Shinji Mikami, apologized to fans for bringing the game to the PS2, since it had broken the Gamecube exclusivity deal and had “betrayed both GameCube and PlayStation users”.
Also unveiled in the scans are the details and screenshots of the original Wii game, Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles. The game is an on-rail shooter which goes into more detail about the fall of the Umbrella Corportation. Playable characters include Chris, Jill, Rebecca, Billy Cohen, and Albert Wesker.
