360 Gets Vintage Sonic Love

May 9th, 2007

It’s sounding like Sega will extend some of their ‘vintage’ titles in a bundle deal headed for the 360. This comes from a rough translation on a Dutch website, so it’s all hearsay at the moment. If you own a 360, and are feeling a little left out that the Wii is getting all the Virtual console goodness, fear no longer. No word on which titles, apart from at least one Sonic title will appear. It’s hard to say if this will extend to other titles in the Sega collection. I am hedging my bets on yes, as it costs nearly nothing to reproduce old games, and the sheer profit would be hard to ignore. The only downside is that they’ll need to put in a little work to upscale the titles to high definition, unless perhaps that is what the ‘vintage’ part means.

We may hear more about this in the future, or twiddle our thumbs on an untrue rumor.
