Wii Sales Reach 8 Million Worldwide

According to VGchartz.org, the Wii has surpassed the 8 million mark. The number is not surprising, considering that Nintendo is shipping more than a million consoles every month, but they haven’t revealed exactly how many consoles have been sold to date. Another site tracking sales is nexgenwars.com, which estimates the sales at 7.6 million.
There are a number of other sites, all claiming the number is anywhere between 7.5 million and 8,5 million units sold. None of it is official though, but Nintendo will most likely reveal the real numbers at their E3 2007 event. It shouldn’t be a surprise if the number is at least 8 million at that time.
