Wii Breaks Australian Sales Records

On June 21st, 2007 in Uncategorized -

Wii in Australia is a break out success, like the rest of the world, it is breaking all sorts of sales records. Specifically over 100 thousand units have been sold to date in just six and a half months since release. the previous record being held by the 360 at 7 months. The PS3 was only just let out in May, but there is a strong chance it could break the record thanks to the flooded amounts of units shipped for release. The Australian version of the console is very similar to our own, with a packed in copy of Wii Sports. Nintendo of course is ecstatic with the results.

“We are pleased that Wii has achieved this benchmark, but we are ecstatic that it attained this whilst also reaching new audiences and expanding the scope of our entire industry,” commented Rose Lappin, director of sales and marketing for Nintendo.
