Sony Sales Rise in Japan

On July 9th, 2007 in Uncategorized -

And yet Nintendo is still far in the lead. The latest sales figures from Japan are on Gamesindustry.biz, who deduces that Sony console sales have increased in the region by as much as 26%.

The PS2 was hit with the most sales, resulting in a 26 percent increase from last week with over 16,000 units sold. The PS3 also saw an increase of 20%, as it sold 11, 914 units; the PSP also saw a growth of 15% having sold 38,305 units.

Amazingly, these numbers when compared to Nintendo are nothing. The Wii sold over 73,919 units and DS dished out over 157,000 units. Unsurprisingly, the Xbox 360 lagged behind as usual – just 3154 consoles in a week.
