Digital Illusions Creative Entertainment, the folks behind the Battlefield games, have announced a new action-adventure games titled Mirror’s Edge. The game is set for release in 2008 and will be available for Xbox 360, PS3, and the PC. Although nothing has been released as far as the game’s story line, the gameplay was briefly described. Basically DICE is aiming at creating the most immersive first person adventure to date. To accomplish this, Mirror’s Edge will have an open environment to a new degree where players wont be restricted by unrealistic barriers. Ever wished you could, say climb a fence in a game? Well this games will satisfy that want so says Senior Producer Owen O’Brien.

“We want to change the way that players are able to move in first person. No more restrictions, no more being blocked by simple barriers such as walls and fences. We want to enable the player to move like a real person, with the ability to run, jump, vault and slide in a way that has never been seen before in a first person game.”
