E3: Fable 2 Details
The basic principle in Fable was that everything you did affected your character. By the looks of what has been revealed, Fable 2 bring that to the next level. Fable 2′s combat system was shown off at E3 today, and it boasts the same ingenuity that the original Fable was renowned for. The melee combat is the primary revelation. Rather than using combos, the combat is mapped solely to the X button. To perform combo moves, the player follows a certain rhythm by pressing X when the drum beats. Like all things in the game, the combat is adaptive and is influenced by the character. This basically means that your character will fight differently in different environments or if she, or he, is in different positions.
The combat also changes with your character younger, bigger, good, or evil characters all will fight differently.Fable sports another unique combat feature. Your character wont die. What will happen instead of death is that your character will merely be knocked out, and then beat up by your opponent(s). Players will then have the choice of sacrificing coins, experience, etc; to get up, or you can let your character lie there and eventually get up on his, or her, own. If you choose the former your character will obtain permanent scars, which will lead to NPCs interacting with you differently.Another thing that is interesting to note is that Fable 2 will have one, and only one cut scene at the beginning- and then the game is movie free.
