E3: Silent Hill 5 Announced
Konami has officially announced Silent Hill 5, the fifth installment in its venerable horror series. In development for the PS3 and Xbox 360, the game will follow Alex Shepherd, a war veteran returning home from an overseas tour of duty, as he gets news that Joshua, his younger brother, has gone missing. Expectedly, investigation leads him to Shepherd’s Glen, before he finds himself engulfed by Silent Hill.
The game will give players access to an enhanced combat system to execute a number of offensive and defensive moves to counter-attack the creatures in Silent Hill. Puzzles have also been improved, as players will have to make use of the environment to solve them. Additionally, the chilling soundtrack is being done by famous composer Akira Yamaoka.
