Iwata Wants to Beat PS2 Sales
We are all aware that the Playstation 2 was one of the most best selling systems ever released. In an interview with Satoru Iwata, president of Nintendo, said in an interview that Nintendo’s next goal is to topple the sales of the PS2, which currently holds the title for being the most commercially successful console of all time.
“Sony’s PS2 sales of 100 million units is an extraordinary number that our home game console business has not achieved, but if we can make our bid to expand the gaming population a continued success, we could exceed that.”
Nintendo is already the leader in sales, so it won’t be surprising if the Wii ends up beating PS2′s record in less time than expected. Sony has been making serious efforts to try to catch up in sales, including the liquidation of the 60GB PS3 models.
