Torque on Wii
GarageGames has announced that it is now licensing the Torque Game Engine for the Wii. It was first shown at the Nintendo Developer Conference in June and is based on the studio’s popular Torque Game Engine. The engine features built-in support for the Wii controller, making it a complete package for both disc-based and downloadable WiiWare games.
Besides the controller support, the engine also supports advanced graphics features including skinned mesh rendering, seamless terrain transitions and some other highly technical and boring features.
The first game using the engine is already in development at Pronto Games, who are working on a Wii-exclusive action title The Destiny of Zorro.
“We chose to develop The Destiny of Zorro with the Torque Game Engine because of its proven reliability and our developers’ familiarity with it,” said Randy Angle, President and Creative Director of Pronto Games.
