SCI, the company which acquired game publisher Eidos in 2005 have reported a $60 million loss for their financial year ending June 30. In a time when most game companies are making money (like a certain Halo 3 publisher), it must be tough to have red numbers on the balance sheet. SCI and Edios, owning such IPs as Hitman, Tomb Raider, and the upcoming Kane & Lynch, one would expect they should be on the safe side, but as anyone knows, competition in the gaming world is fierce. Eidos says the bad performance – where sales dropped 20% compared to last year – were due to poor timing of new product launches, and a weaker retail price on previous gen consoles.

Halo 3 introduced to us the new ability to customize your multi player character in a bunch of different ways. While some of these variations you will pretty much pick up by default (like the EVA variation just by completing campaign) but others aren’t so easy to come across. Whether it be racking up a 750 Gamerscore (or higher according to some of the posts) or collecting all of those annoying skulls we all remember from Halo 2, unlocking all of the new customizable armor might be a decent challenge. While you might think it not be worth your effort just getting a new look for your player, some of the armor looks pretty tantalizing like the Hayabusa variation pictured above, or even the Halo 1 Mark V armor. Either way, our friends over at Gamequack have written up a list of how to go about unlocking each and every piece of armor in Halo 3.

You can check out all of the different armor variations that this post helps you unlock in the image provided on the forum that we mirrored here.

Also, for the complete list of how to unlock these new customizable armors hit the read link or head on over to the Gamequack for the original post.

Do you ever play games that look amazing and wonder how they can possibly be running so smoothly in HD? Well apparently, in Halo 3′s case, it’s not. Instead of being presented in “true” HD, Halo 3 is simply up scaled to 720p from 640p. Is the missing 80p a problem? Not at all. Bungie officially explained that this is the trade off required to achieve a game that feels real.

Despite the game reportedly earning approximately $170 on launch day, the New York Time’s Charles Herold states the third Halo is just Halo 2 with better graphics.

Halo 3 is Halo 2 with somewhat better graphics.
That’s all you really need to know. If you loved Halo 2, you will feel just the same about Halo 3. If you played Halo 2 and couldn’t figure out what all the fuss was about, Halo 3 is not the revelatory experience that will change your view of the series forever.

It doesn’t stop there; Mr.Herold states that the equipment adds no depth to the experience. He even goes as far as to say that the game’s plot is a short, predictable “throwaway” story. Fortunately, he wasn’t bold enough to insult Halo 3′s multiplayer.

The article doesn’t state any solid reasons why Halo 3 isn’t a great game, it just seems to go against the grain for the sake of it. Of course, I highly doubt Charles Herold will actually dissuade anyone’s decision to purchase the game.
