Nintendo Goes Hog Wild With Trademarks

On September 6th, 2007 in Uncategorized -

Much in the same realm as patents, just because they register it, doesn’t mean it will ever see the light of day. Nevertheless, Nintendo has trademarked quite a few new terms, as well as renewed one for a game. Let the speculation abound.

Most importantly, the Pikmin trademark has been renewed in the process, which can be taken in one or two ways; Confirmation that Pikmin is in the pipes in some form, or simply a run of the mill renewal. Either way, with two iterations on the Gamecube, it’s pretty likely we’ll be seeing a sequel in the next few years. The other trademarks include:

Mii Contest Channel
Nintendo Magic
Mii Audition
Wii Handle
Soma Bringer

I’ll let you mind run wild with a few of those, but it’s possible that the Mii Contest Channel could be the new surprise Nintendo has for us for September, which Reggie hinted about back at E3. I can’t even begin to guess what Soma Bringer could possibly be.
