Though it was revealed before, Free Radical Studios has officially confirmed that TimeSplitters 4 is currently in development for “next-gen” consoles.

A humorous flash video on their website takes a stab at Halo 3 – “The greatest first person shooter of all time back for another chapter… fight to the finish,” revealing Master Chief to be a certain ape. The site also sports a Gears of War-like monkey icon.

Despite the humor, nothing of substance has risen yet, except for the following: “It’s funny, it’s frantic and it’ll do things you’ve never seen before! No, not naked girls, even better than that! We can’t tell you the details yet, the monkeys have a loaded banana pressed against our skull, but this game will take the first person shooter to gaming nirvana.”
