Microsoft is arming the US Army with plasma ray guns, as the company has revealed that it is in the process of outfitting USO centers around the world with Xbox 360 consoles so that armed forces members can play Halo 3 or Madden NFL 07 during their time off.

The soldiers will also be able to chat with their dear ones back home in the States using the voice chat option in Xbox Live. Interestingly, soldiers in Iraq have already started playing Halo 3 as Bungie and Microsoft have set up stations in the country where soldiers can go to play the game online.
