Sony Begging Developers To Stick With The PS3
According to Dean Takanashi, a well informed and credible writer for the Mercury News, who’s recent article on the gaming industry and the latest sales numbers also includes this rather interesting part:
One piece of news that came out this week was that Sony pleaded with third-party developers not to abandon its struggling platform. That change in attitude is a marked difference compared to the arrogance of past years.
He continues to say that Sony says that the PS3 will show its strength when developers have learned how to use the new technology, which of course includes the rather complicated Cell chip architecture. However developers can make 3-4 Wii games for the same price of one PS3 game, as Takanashi notes, an obvious advantage that’s hard to come by.
