You read it here first folks (unless you’d already read it elsewhere): the upcoming Animal Crossing for the Wii is possibly going to be an MMO. A Japanese source told Edge magazine this juicy bit of information. While there’s nothing officially confirming or denying this yet (Nintendo has been tight-lipped about details of the new Animal Crossing) it seems a definite possibility given the huge popularity of the original and the built-in Wifi of the Wii. The USB keyboard support recently added could possibly lend some credibility to this rumor, as a ‘social networking MMO’ would be extremely annoying if you had to type everything in using the Wiimote.
