Originally set for release this Fall on PS3 and Xbox 360, highly anticipated title Grand Theft Auto 4 was delayed to next year. However, that release date is also up in the air now, as Take Two has gone on record to say that they will only give a firm date “when [they] are utterly convinced that [they] have it” and that the current build is not up to their standards. “We know it’s highly anticipated. Right now our view is to put out a high quality title and we’re not in the business of disappointing investors,” said company chairman Strauss Zelnick.

As for the missed Christmas season? “I think most people see it as okay,” he bluntly stated. “Hardware penetration is going to grow over Christmas and because this is a must-have title it’s probably okay that we’re not selling it in the Christmas season.”
