Bungie Working On New IP & Halo Sequels

November 9th, 2007

After the record-breaking success of Halo 3 Bungie was free to write their own ticket and break away somewhat from Microsoft. Although they’re still maintaining a positive professional relationship with their former parent company they’re definitely looking to push off in new directions and explore their own creative goals. While work is still underway on the Xbox 360 RTS Halo Wars (which will likely come to PC as well) as well as a secret Peter-Jackson produced scifi game set in the Halo universe, Bungie is out to prove that they’re not one-trick ponies. Although they say they’ve got plenty of folks willing to keep going with various Halo games and many ideas and designs to base those off of (I’m hoping for a Warthog racing game… anyone with me?) they say that they’re putting a lot of energy into getting a new IP out there, one that they own and control.
