‘Hot Coffee’ Suits Finally Settling
While the media, politicians and gamers alike were all focusing on the Manhunt 2 scandal, the whole ‘Hot Coffee’ scandal from Take-Two’s “Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas” was coming to a close. Luckily for the publisher they’ve managed to avoid any serious class-action suits by offering up a settlement. Anyone who purchased the game before July 20th 2005 and claims to be “offended and upset by the ability of consumers to modify and alter the game’s content” and who swears they would not have purchased the game had they known about the mod can get either a $35 refund or an edited copy of the game. Under the terms of this settlement neither Take-Two nor Rockstar Games has to admit any wrong-doing related to the scandal.
