Smash Bros. Dojo Update: Norfair
Metroid fans will recognize this level as one where Samus has battled Ridley on several occasions. Norfair was a fiery area and this level is no different. Five platforms are suspended over a lake of lava. While you’re battling your opponents you’ll have to keep an eye on the terrain as the lava will occasionally rise and cover some of the platforms. The real danger though is a huge lava wave which will wash over anyone unprotected. How do you protect yourself from a huge lava wave? I’m glad you ask. When the towering flow of molten rock appears a small ‘safe area’ will pop up also, one that Metroid fans will again recognize: it takes the form of one of the many hatchways throughout the franchise, complete with blue forcefield door. Inside you can sit in safety while your opponents roast outside.
