Beowulf Game Ships; Gamers Flabbergasted by Quality
The game based on the action movie based on the old English epic poem – Beowulf – is now available in stores for pillaging. Unlike its movie counterpart, which has slaughtered the competition at the box office, the game has fallen flat on its face, with a below 50 average on Gamerankings.
Despite that, Ubisoft is excited to cash in on gullible movie-goers who might want to taste the brutality of playing a bad game. “Today is an exciting day for Ubisoft as we launch the Beowulf video game alongside the release of the Beowulf movie,” stated Tony Key, senior vice president of sales and marketing at Ubisoft. “Working closely with Paramount Pictures and Shangri-La Entertainment has allowed us to breathe new life into this ancient tale, creating an amazing gaming experience that will extend Beowulf’s adventures for fans of both the epic poem and the new feature film.”
The game takes place before the movie and delves into uncharted territories not defined in the source material itself. It features voice performances by the movie actors themselves, fatality moves, dynamic combat and more.
Beowulf is available for PS3, Xbox 360, PC and PSP, that is if you want to pick it up.
