Sony today sent out word that it has released Syphon Filter: Combat Ops, a downloadable multiplayer game that expands the experience presented in previous Syphon Filter outings on the PSP. It adds new missions and combat modifiers, map editing features and the ability to share user-generated content.

Users will be able to create their own multiplayer missions with the ability to edit objectives, avatars, spawn points and zip line locations, then upload them to the game server to share with PSP users worldwide. A ranking system for shared maps allows players to rate maps.

The game features five modes of 4v4 gameplay, including Retrieval, Sabotage, Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch and Rogue Agent. It is only available through the PlayStation Store that was recently launched on PC.
