Although the Smash Bros. games are undoubtedly most enjoyable when played with friends the developers are doing everything they can to make the single player experience robust an interesting as well. To this end they’ve resurrected the Events mode for Smash Bros. Brawl. This game mode will have you battling through predetermined situations with a variety of characters. Two Trouble Kings will put you in Mario’s shoes where you’ll have to square off against Bowser (a.k.a. King Koopa) and newcomer King Dedede. Pink Ball Repulsion will have you take control of Metaknight as you attempt to keep Kirby from getting to your ship. You’ll have to knock the little pink puffball off the platform in a limited amount of time. Not all the modes will be straight battles however: as Pit in Cleaning House In Skyworld you’ll be tasked with destroying all the terrain platforms while you’re aided/hindered by Wario. As Yoshi you’ll have to get both your opponents into eggs simultaneously in Sleeping in the Eggs. These are just a few of the events available, there should be quite a few more when the game is released. No matter what event you’re playing you’ll have the option of setting the difficulty to easy, medium or hard depending on your skill or preference.
