Reasons Why PSP Will Overtake DS
It is common knowledge that the DS has sold much, MUCH more than the PSP. So, why would anyone want to say that the Sony handheld is overtaking the DS? Gizmodo does. And they justify themselves, too.
They have this article up that discusses the reasons why the PSP will, or might, soon take over the position of the DS as the top handheld. Sales of the PSP have increased in the recent months, and Sony has seen much success with their redesigned, slimmer PSP model. There’s also the undeniable fact that the PSP has better-rated games than the DS. Here’s a bit:
PSP actually has more good games to play. According to metacritic, the site that aggregates major game reviews, the PSP has 53 games that are rated 80 (out of 100) or higher, whereas the DS only has 44. Although the DS has three games that score higher than any of the PSP’s (Mario Kart DS, Advance Wars: Dual Strike, Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass), on the whole it seems the PSP gets you better bang for your buck.
What do you guys think? Does the PSP have enough mojo to defeat the DS?
