Nintendo Due To Lose $1 Billion Due to Shortages

On December 14th, 2007 in Uncategorized -

With Nintendo unable to meet demand for the Wii for quite some time, the internet rumor mill was producing the occasional accusation by mildly paranoid individuals who see everything as part of a corporation’s overall evil scheme. Nintendo has been accused by various forumgoers of deliberately creating a shortage of consoles to keep the price high. Surprisingly nobody seems to have stumbled upon the super-conspiracy that Nintendo is in fact keeping supplies down, then purchasing their own stock and selling it at a premium on ebay through various dummy corporations. No matter what you believe about the reasons behind the shortage, it’s unlikely that it was a deliberate move as analysts have predicted that Nintendo will lose over one billion dollars this holiday season due to lost sales in consoles alone. This doesn’t even include the money they’d be making off the various accessories, peripherals and games people would likely be buying if they could get their hands on a Wii.
