Smallville Star Chosen as Chun-Li

In a bit of revelation that can be termed ‘shocking’, ComingSoon reports that Kristin Kreuk (Smallville) has been cast to play Chun-Li in the upcoming Street Fighter movie. Dubbed Street Fighter: Legend of Chun-Li, the movie is set to begin shooting in March 2008 and is being directed by Andrzej Bartkowski.

What shocks me is that she is not even remotely Chinese! I wonder how they made their casting choice.
