Louisiana Quarterbacks Use Custom Game to Train

On January 8th, 2008 in Uncategorized -

This AP story reports that Louisiana State quarterbacks Matt Flynn and Ryan Perrilloux are using a custom-made football video game to prepare for the BCS national championship. Dubbed the PlayAction Simulator, the game was developed by XOS Technologies in collaboration with EA Sports. The game basically looks like any EA-made sports game, minus the crowds and bands, but with features like customized playbooks and instant feedback on player choices.

“Whenever we hit a play, that play would automatically match up with the defense that we would see or blitz we would see,” said Perilloux. “If you make the wrong decision it’s an automatic interception or it’s an automatic incompletion.”

The simulation game is adjusted for each quarterback, allowing for a more wider selection of plays to choose from as well as varying decision time.
