More Details On GameSpot’s “Editorial Standards”

1UP’s Sam Kennedy writes an article about GameSpot, or rather, the demise of GameSpot and it’s credibility. He briefly covers the whole Gertsmann incident, but then the good stuff comes; GameSpot apparently has a tracking system called “GameTrax”, where all users data is collected and sent to marketers, for instance, what game pages you visit, what news your read, what screenshots you look at and so on.

Furthermore, there’s evidence that marketers are buying coverage, including positive previews (and reviews?). Read more here (great read, actually).
