Yesterday, we reported on a rumor that Splinter Cell Conviction may be makings its way to the Playstation 3, due to a retailer listing. However, Ubisoft has responded quite convincingly that indeed that was a mistake on the retailer’s behalf. The rep said “This is just a mistake by the retailer. The game is not coming out on PS3.”

Along with this supposed mistake was the release date listed as April 1st 2008, which seems to be a placeholder to me, or an all too early April fool’s joke. This too is not that case, as the game will still stick to its original fiscal 2008 release date. While technically a possibility, there are 364 other days Ubisoft may be considering.
