Activision Trademarks New GH Game
The Guitar Hero franchise has rocked its way to every current-gen console and is netting Activision enough cash to trash entire hotels. A year ago they announced the series would be coming to the Wii and the DS. The Wii version has already arrived, but a DS version hasn’t been talked about yet. On January 19th Activision registered a product called “Guitar Hero On Tour” with the United States Patent and Trademark office. Two distinct possibilities exist for this game given the title: either we’re looking at a game for portable devices (likely either a DS or cellphones) or an all-live-recording version of the game. What seems more likely to my mind is a DS version of the game as that is the one area unconquered by the popular rhythm games and the DS is selling in vast numbers.
